A while back I posted about my favorite local milk company, Shatto Milk. As with most great companies, they do more than just have a great product and recently they have been recognized for their efforts.
Shatto won Bridging the Gap's 2007 Environmental Excellence Award for keeping more than 800,000 plastic jugs out of landfills with their glass bottle packaging. According to the Kansas City Small Business Monthly, Shatto has kept an estimated 3.5 million jugs out of our landfills since 2003.
Shatto also won the Missouri Travel Council's Pathfinder Award for finding new paths to drive tourism in the state. Stop by their farm and see where milk comes from and how it's bottled.
